The boat is lifted out of the water!

Yesterday we got up on the hard for maintenance and for spur-cutters to be fitted on to the prop-shaft.

This young Mexican girl was in charge of lifting the boat out of the water.

With a remote control box she maneged the whole operation!

Here she stands in front of the lift with the boat hanging in the slings.

The weight of the yacht 16 tons.
Here you see it hanging in the slings above the water.

Now the hoist rolls along up into the boatyard.

The boat on her temporary resting place for a few days only.

In the evening we relaxed with other cruisers along the beach in a bar having a few beers at happy hour.

Happy hour. At happy hour you get two drinks for the price of one!

Our Lady of Guadelope.

Our Lady of Guadalupe

December 12 The Virgin of
Guadalupe Fiesta

Before the Christmas season "officially" begins on December 16, day when the first
Posada takes place, Mexicans join together for the festivities of
La Virgen de Guadalupe, Our Lady of Guadalupe, on December 12. This is one of the most important dates in the Mexican calendar.

Yesterday, 12th of December I went into the center of Mazatlan to the Cathedral to experience this Mexican holiday.
Young families brought their babies and young children to the cathedral to be presented to the shrine of the Holy Guadelupe and to have their photos taken in front of the alter.

The children were all dressed up in native costume. This little boy is sporting a mustage.

A happily sleeping very young baby.

Not so happy little girl.

Walking with Mummy.

Proud mother and young girl.

Outside the cathedral children have their photo taken in front of the Lady of Guadelupe.

You can buy soft drinks, hot food and toys.

You can get your shoes polished.

And Christmas is coming!

Night time in the marina

Sunset through the rigging. It is getting cold, especially at sunset, so we all start covering up.

Even this little live-aboard shipsdog has started wearing his coat!

Last night we had a group of flamingo dancers intertaining on the promenade.

Their dancing was fantastic and they were very beautiful.

They danced with the backdrop of the marina with all the yachts.
